I can’t remember how close a service switch needs to be. I have 2 outside compressors that are wired from an exterior panel with breakers, but the panel is 12-15 feet away and around a bush. Should there be a service switch located within 6 feet of the compressors? Thx for the help. I searched and could not find a distance.
Just required to be within eyesight
Thx Charley. I knew it had something to do with being close enough so someone wouldn’t be tempted to work on the unit without disconnecting the service.
I only recommend based upon my prior Industrial experience…
LO/TO
the disconnect must be within sight of the appliance…
The NEC defines within sight as being visible from the equipment and within 50’.
Thx Robert.
