shallow well pump

A 5 GPM Dole flow control valve in a line that connects the discharge side of the pump with the suction side would decrease the frequency of cycling for about $25.00 with pipe fittings etc. The pressure would cycle less because the pump would be operating closer to the 50PSIg pressure constantly. Better yet put the pump on a 3minute relay. When the switch opens to turn the pump off , a relay that was timed at three minutes would allow the pump indings to dissipate starting current heat. THis must be used with the recirc valve mentioned above.

Much cheaper and less space grabbing than an 80 Gallon Bladder tank.

Kurt, from what you are saying, the tank is too small for the situation. You can either put in a larger, expensive tank, a Dole flow valve, which would restrict the amount of water you can get in the house, or a cycle stop valve. Contact Cycle Stop Valves at 800-652-0207. I have had good success with these and it doesn’t restrict the amount of water. Hope this helps.
