Sheathing prep?

Hey everyone, I haven’t seen this before, I drive by here a lot, I am assuming this is a primer on the sheathing. As long as it isn’t just prep for a painted finish I would be okay with it. I believe the house next door, newly brick home, is the same builder and this will also be brick. I am making a lot of assumptions here. Is it a method to protect the plywood during a longer than normal construction period? A waste of money prior to house wrap?? Just curious what y’all think…

i’ve seen a sprayed on waterproofing product used with stone veneers in this area. Apparently it takes the place of house wrap the way the green surface coating on zip system is supposed to apparently. I’ve only seen it on higher end homes.

It seems that they used liquid flashing instead of house wrap

Driving by houses at this stage of the build is always funny (or not). I constantly see missing/blown away wrap and all kinds of other things. I’m sure the siding installers button everything up before covering it

That’s definitely an odd picture but just a snapshot in time so hard to say what all is going on there.
