I gave the stopper to my 3 year old to install. Even though she can't read and didn't look at the diagram she was able to figure it out anyway. Go figure. Just who were these instruction intended for anyways? What a waste of paper and ink.

Basically (among other things) it says that the vapor barrier should be placed closet to the living space and not be exposed due to the fact that it will burn easily.
