When doing an inspection how do you know if this system is in place or does this go beyond the scope of inspection? Do you just know afte time? Im still very much a newbie and trying to cypher everything I see.

For the most part it will be difficult to tell if this is in place. It’s supposed to project above grade a few inches.


It's not necessarily "beyond our scope" (IMHO), if you see it, note its presence in your report. If you don't see it, don't go digging for it.

While inspecting the basement, you'll usually get a pretty good idea of whether or not it has water proofing of some type.
