Solar Power Inspections?

I received a call last night from a gentleman looking for someone to inspect a homeowner installed solar generator so that it could be “approved” for the power company to connect it to the grid. I’m in north central West Virginia. I mentioned to him that he would need one of the power company certified entrance inspectors at some point and he may check with them. He said they had already been there. Any input would be appreciated.

I had mine installed by a company as I could not get insurance on a self installed system.
They had an engineer check out my roof .
Then a permit was issued to do the work.
they required an electrician to do all hook ups and the building Inspector to check the insulation .

Then the electrical power authority come to inspect the work also.
Then the local hydro to do the hook up.

You might want to check and see what is required in your area.

Dale;
I would advise them to contact the manufacture of the equipment to find a local rep that can come out and inspect it to make sure;
A. It’s functioning
B. It’s installed per the manufacture’s installation instructions

Other than that I can’t think of what else they would require.
