Wow… very cool assessment Gregg… lots of effort goes into making Spectacular what it is today. The app gets worked on every single day and the to-do list of enhancements is very long. It’s nice to see complements like this and humbling to know that the hard work is recognized… we look forward to serving your new inspection business…
I’m new to the field but have been in the technology industry for the past 27 years. While still in the process of obtaining my certification, I did a full evaluation of each of the forementioned products. From my perspective, Spectacular is a legitimate product and offers the best value. In have not pulled the trigger yet, but I am minimally using it for my four mock inspections required to obtain certification. It is important to share that I am an OSx and IOS consumer.
Hi Guys, I’m a newbie here. I’m just trying to figure out what the most user-friendly software is. Is there something that will allow duplicate systems? I’m still doing mock-ups and one inspection had two heating systems and two plumbing systems, so I need to try to list and report on both. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Charles,
I’d recommend giving Spectacular a look. Aaron has done a great job in creating a robust app, that is rock solid. It wouldn’t surprise me if it won’t be much longer until the go to apps will be Spectacular, Homegauge and Home Inspector Pro (no particular order or preference, just listing).
And yes, you can duplicate sections/components on the fly with any major software, Spectacular included.
Tim, Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but I spent the day trying to restore my computer. Downloading from the Windows store changed my settings and crashed me. Anyway, is there somewhere that I can get a trial of Spectacular other than the store?
I tried to get it from the sight, but it redirects to the store.
Please forgive my ignorance.
Thanks
If you’re running windows 10, I copied the link from the store, https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9nblggh5x1g5?ocid=badge
If you have iOS ( iPhone or iPAD) https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/spectacular-home-inspection/id542218862?mt=8
Good Luck!
Hmm, downloading apps from the App Store doesn’t crash systems. In fact App Store apps don’t have access to settings. That’s kind of the point why Windows went the App Store route. Not sure what really happened to your system.
Spectacular for Windows is only available via the Windows App Store…
Reporthost continues to improve and serve me very well.
We just converted someone from ReportHost last week… They still use ASP which is a 1990’s technology.
Hi All,
I need to apologize for giving the impression that Spectacular crashed my computer. My fault that I was not clear.
My problem was that upon download, Microsoft changed my settings and when I attempted to do a system restore, my computer crashed. **It was not the software at all! Thanks for bringing this to my attention Aaron.
**I would love to try the software; however, Iam gun-shy about going back to the App Store.
Anyway, I hope that I have cleared this up.
Thanks for your understanding.
Hey Charles,
Let’s talk today and we can walk through it…

Want to try their software but cannot. Im on windows 7 pc. How can I download it to try it. Using Home Gauge right now. What advantages does it offer over that. Thx.
Hey Kenneth,
You’d need to upgrade to Windows 10. It’s probably time to get with the times… Windows 7 came out in 2009. Technology moves fast man…
As far as advantages over HomeGauge, let’s start with full integration with ISN.
OK. We are multi inspector firm. Can we still integrate with ISN. I thought that homegauge was integrated with ISN
Yes, multi inspector firms can integrate with ISN. Spectacular has full integration whereas you can retrieve the customers from ISN into Spectacular and upload the report back to ISN after the inspection. It’s my understanding that HomeGauge only allows downloading customers, but makes you go through their report delivering system. I know many multi inspector firms that pay for both HomeGauge services and ISN services. That seems silly. You should only need the best one.
I am sure it seems silly to you Aaron because you are a competitor but there are other advantages our HG Services bring besides ISN.
For the record, can you easily say HomeGauge Services are better than ISN? Note that no response is a response.
I have many more features in HG Services than appointments. However we continue to close the gap on features that many pay hundreds of dollars a year or a month for.
This is the end of my discussion. No take backs
You started the discussion, but I’ll finish it. You seem to imply that ISN is only good for appointments. Not cool and not true. My question was rhetorical of course. Most HomeGauge users would choose ISN over HomeGauge easily if they could upload the damn report from HomeGauge. Their focus is home inspection office management. Your focus should be home inspection software. It seems HomeGauge has an identity crisis…
HomeGauge users upload to HomeGauge for many reasons and why html is superior to pdf. Those that use ISN can attach a pdf to isn in about two clicks. Or they can send a pdf without HomeGauge upload if they desire too.
I would suggest you spend more time trying to sell your software rather than discuss HomeGauge with me.
