Inspection of an interior stairway. The guard or railing height is 36 inches. The baluster spacing is satisfactory( i cannot pass a 4 inch sphere through at any point). The tread depth is 10 inches, and the rise is 7 1/2 inches. The width of the stairway is greater than 36 inches. This stairway and railing system passes my inspection and is acceptable.
Nice, so now, did you note that the railings were continuous and uninterrupted on at least one side of the stairway?
From the picture, the bottom railings might just terminate at the two end walls.
Did it meet the proper headroom clearance?
What was the tread width?
The balusters can be up to 4 3/8 inches apart Fyi
