The Standards of Practice booklet is available FREE from FABI. The Standards of Practice were adopted by the Florida Association of Building Inspectors from the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). The booklet covers various topics including plumbing, electrical, heating, central air conditioning, insulation and ventilation.

All of KREIA is closed to NACHI members. You can be a member of ASHI, NAHI, an association that has no SOP, or and independent and KREIA welcomes you as long as you agree to abide by the Standards of Practice KREIA approved. My 90 year old Aunt Penny who lives in Argentina can join KREIA but I can't.

KREIA has a NO-NACHI members rule.

See http://www.kreia.org/standardsofpractice.html

All I'm saying if that if this NO-NACHI members rule is unintentional, which I'm sure it is, then it should be immediately repaired. If NACHI discovered a NO-KREIA members rule, we'd fix it fast.

My thoughts
A thought about ASHI vs NACHI Standards preventing KREIA membership.
I feel that while, for KREIA membership, I inspect to ASHI Standards of Practice (or exceed them), I am still in compliance with the NACHI Code of Ethics that requires me to "substanially follow the NACHI Standards of Practice." Of course, is either standard important at all when you exceed both of them anyway? I wouldn't let either ASHI or NACHI or anybody else stop me from being involved in my State Association. I hope y'all don't either.
