Stitched sheathing

Hello Everyone,

Has anyone seen stitched plywood sheathing? The home had some new standing seam roofing put on, and from the underside it looks like it was installed using a sewing machine! Would love to hear from others if this is common. See pic - note the white thread.20190503-70

There is such a thing a stitching plywood but this just looks like overrun of glue during manufacturing.

It wasn’t glue though. And there were lengths of this all over the sheathing where metal roofing was installed. Any help is great on identifying the process.
