stove pipe through attic

Can a stove pipe or heating flue pipe cause condensation issues in an attic?

Yepp!

If the chase housing the chimney is not sealed properly at the ceiling level, it can be a large source of upward air movement from the house below due to stack and wind pressures. If this house air contains high levels of humidity and the attic is relativey cold due being well insulated, when the warm moist air hits the cool/cold roof sheathing, condensation and possibly frost may occur.
