Student Discussion: How to Inspect for Moisture Intrusion Course

Yes I’m from New Orleans and we have high humidity often and I thought the humidity was my main issue at my home. But after this course I realized it is a drainage issue.

The moisture intrusion topic does not get old, always something to learn or get refreshed on. I’m in northern Wisconsin, we get a little of everything here. A lot of what I see around here for water intrusion is improper installations or deferred maintenance.

I was aware of efflorescence, but I appreciated learning more details in this course. Specifically, the continued capillary action, osmosis and the hydrostatic pressure. The amount of pressure was surprising to me and how this is a cause of a lot of spalling. This topic was presented well, and I understand it much better.

Looking forward to continuing this course. As a mold inspector it never hurts to continue learning about moisture Intrusion.

this would be helpful in the new england area plus radon and mold
