Sub-panel feed

Do breakers feeding a sub panel have to be tied? This sub is fed with 2 single pole 20 amp breakers. Or does it just make it a 120 volt sub?

I’m aware of the neutral isolation and square D breaker

It should be 1 entire breaker reason is it does not have a common trip between the 2 phases

Common trip or handle tie required, neutral needs to be white and neutrals and EGC’s require separation at the sub panel.

Thanks Robert. I thought it needed a common trip. An “electrician” told me different.

I new about identifying the neutral (white) and the neutral/EGC separation.

I recommended to remove the sub and relocate the circuits to the “main” panel. There is enough room. The panels were only a few feet away.
