What is the proper water level in a sump? I always thoght it should be just below the tile. I was told today by a plumber that it should be above the tile for more capacity and to keep the pump from short cycling. I have seen several older homes where the top of the tile is only a few inches below the floor level. That’s to close for me. Thanks, Ken
You are correct, if the water level is at or above the tile it will stop the flow and hold water at the foundation. The idea is to get that water away from the foundation as quickly as possible.
Thanks, that’s what I think too. I would like to hear from some plumbers out there. Ken
