Just an idea ... and could members please post any good technical links related to this first "beta" links listing by posting it here (and I will keep updating the topic for additional good links) ... ![icon_wink.gif](upload://ssT9V5t45yjlgXqiFRXL04eXtqw.gif)

Hell of an idea Robert. This would be a huge asset , it would be an online library. We should get Chris Morrel involved, like he doesn’t have enough to do already. You never know but I think this is good.

Monte … just add the links here, and I will check them out and posssibly add them to the list. Just type the link in the reply text and it comes out as a link automatically … e.g. www.nachi.org

Best idea I’ve heard in a while. I was sorely dissappointed when the visual aid frames were tossed…they were great for a quick reference.

Robert...If you need any help organizing, let me know.

They were just replaced by the Inspection Depot visual aid frames. Major kudos to Inspection Depot for the hard work and donation to NACHI ... ![eusa_clap.gif](upload://vwXJP6EroRUgatgS660IOyuD5XK.gif)

Example ... http://www.nachi.org/id-enlarged.php?id=1912

No searchable database yet, but they are more current and color too. I like them a lot (more if we had an index ... ). I would like to see and Index and a Searchable Database of both the visual aid frames and technical links. It's on one of the Education Committee's burners ... but on a back burner with the online education and limited availability of Chris to set those pages up to start working on them.

So this Topic will will just have to do for now as a start on a listing for good Structure Links ...

We can always use more victims ... errrr ... volunteers to help out. Maybe start compiling lists of good links you have, and post any good structure related links here.

The inspection depot visual aids are great, only you can print them off.

Exactly. I don't have time hit refresh 2000 times until I find what I want. I hope they do get indexed soon.

With the list’s from John and Robert no one will every have to ask a question again. Great resource material. There should be CE credits awarded on researching different subjects from these sites. The test can be given and graded by NACHI. The test can be like the COE on safety inspection ( Open Book and Fill in the blanks)

Hello Robert O’C et al. - additionally I have been working on one very similar for plumbing. My old website use to have a similar setup and it became a very popular place for inspectors, purchasers and others to get information. It will likely be posted in a separate thread in the next week.

As time allows, the Education Committee could do this for all the major Systems and Topics related to Home Inspections, and have a good database for Chris to set up an initial Links Page ... ![icon_idea.gif](upload://6VKizmOm2U7YYmfXNtFW4XTwFVy.gif)

Please feel free to share any good STRUCTRURE links you probably have here too.

Dana ... Good point about adding ICF information (possibly precast foundation systems too), and I will add a recommended book/reading list too shortly ...

I was trying not to get too manufacturer specific with stuff like engineered lumber (thus the APA links) ... except for some stuff from TrussJoist and Simpson, which are industry leaders and do have some good general product guides.

The APA link I gave ( http://www.apawood.org/level_b.cfm?content=prd_main ) takes you to pages about each type of engineered lumber (e.g. LVL), and have listings of product manufacturers on the right hand of those pages if you want to look up something that is manufacturer specific ...
