Telesecopic ladder

For those of you who only use a telescopic ladder in your business, how are you opening attic hatches?

I prop it against the nearest wall (with a towel over the top to protect the wall). Once I have the hatch out of the way, I climb down and extend it into the attic.

I only use that ladder inside. I have little giant clone for the outside. When it has been raining or snowing outside, it’s really hard to clean a ladder before taking it inside. I like the extend and climb because it fits behind my seat and stays clean.

How do you Handel a high garage 11 feet and all walls are 5 feet away?

I use the rubber bumper for the X&C:

so I don’t scruff up interior areas (I have one side marked interior, and use in on the inside, and the other side other for exteriors).

I never try to “bump” a hatch open with it though - I’ve read too many accounts of damaged hatches.

is it possible that the rubber feet on your ladder have become contaminated from use and are no longer as sticky is when it was new? dirt dust and other contaminents would reduse the ammount of friction against a smooth floor.

It may be worth giving the rubber a good detergent scrub and maybe trying some denatured alcohol on them to remove any oils or grease on the surface.

I lost one of the rubber feet off my Telestesps once and was able to order a replacement pair. If cleaning does work and they are just worn then replace them.
