My situation is that it was hoping to make the transition from real estate appraising to inspecting. The reason for the effort was that it normally takes 2 to 3 times longer to do an appraisal than an inspection. Yes, the inspection times are similar, but the reporting times are not. But, during covid, my appraisal fees went up and it made it hard to turn down appraisal work for an inspection job. For this reason, I never made the transition and the my inspection license and equipment went unused. Now that I’m 65, I’m going to use whatever working years I have left doing appraisals. Thanks for your consideration on the test equipment. First good offer takes it all. Looking forward to hearing from you.

How long are you onsite for an appraisal and how long does it take to do the appraisal report back at the office, on say, a typical 2k sq ft. house? Just curious.

I was just informed that I could not transfer my class. I would need to take the class myself or forfeit the prize. Therefore, class is not included in this offer. :frowning:

I allow approximately 1 1/2 hours to do the site visit (sketch, photos, and comparable property photos). And another 5-6 hours for the administrative stuff (searches for property records, deed transfer records, plat map, flood zone information, comparable properties search, sales comparison analysis, market analysis, neighborhood analysis, and then provide the required narratives). All the searches are done prior to the site visit, and all analysis and narratives are done afterwards.
