My situation is that it was hoping to make the transition from real estate appraising to inspecting. The reason for the effort was that it normally takes 2 to 3 times longer to do an appraisal than an inspection. Yes, the inspection times are similar, but the reporting times are not. But, during covid, my appraisal fees went up and it made it hard to turn down appraisal work for an inspection job. For this reason, I never made the transition and the my inspection license and equipment went unused. Now that I’m 65, I’m going to use whatever working years I have left doing appraisals.
