testing oil tanks for water

I had a realtor ask me today if I routinely test oil tanks for water as part of my home inspections. Do any of you do this? Or do you defer the testing to others?

It is easier to change direction than it is to forget where one has been.

No. I don’t check for water. I check the outside condition of the tank, filter and lines and recommend periodic replacement of filter

The oil co. usually will check for water in the tank using water paste.

The paste could be green, but when it comes in contact with water it will turn red.
