Thermography QOD 10-19-2008

Relating E, R and T

When emissivity is low, the majority of IR radiation that is received by your camera is from another source.

Your IR camera cannot distinguish reflected energy from IR energy radiated by the target.

What is a Thermographers first step in determining if reflections are present?

A. Adjust Level and Span
B. Re-Focus Camera
C. Change Color Palette
D. Change Viewing Angle

Kevin

Are you going to make this a poll?

There is a poll for this thread. Can you see it?

Kevin

Do the Thermographers “Jig” Dance.

Now I can???

Once a poll is generated it takes 10-15 minutes sometimes for it to show up on the thread. This occurs every time a poll is posted and is just an idiosyncrasy of the board… I would think most would know this by now.

Answer:

D. Change Viewing Angle

You do this first to determine if the pattern in the image changes due to reflections.
