I was inspecting the gas furnace today in this 1940 house. I turned up the thermostat and was waiting for the gas to fire up and I just remembered I didn’t see any flue pipes through the roof. I quickly shut down the furnace, which ran for less than a minute. Got my ladder out and poked my head up into the attic with my CO detector. The detector quickly registered about 10 ppm, so I waited a few minutes for the CO to dissipate and here is what I found.
I guess if number one did not work, number two was ready.
Looked at the heading and picture before reading everything else. Thought this was going to be about the prison shank.
Luckily no one has died in that house. I find that often with plumbing vent stacks, but never with the furnace vent.
WOW good catch so much wrong there! Glad no one has died.
