TPR Extension ot exterior

Ever seen this? This pipe is the termination of the TPR extension. I’ve never seen one run like this.

Where is it? And you know this how?

Interesting. Perhaps a new way to thaw the sidewalk ice:)

If it actually is the TPRV drain, it must discharge by gravity.

But, I am skeptical this is the discharge.

I don’t usually do it, but I tested the TPR valve to find out - hot, rusty water came up from this pipe. It IS the drain. And William, we don’t normally have an issue with sidewalk ice in Florida!

This home was “rehabbed” in 2004… you can see the condition of the stucco in the pic! It’s stucco over wood frame.

I’ll bet this is kosher on Cali

LOL - Agree.

Defect! Too close to stucco and doorway.

Next time you exercise a TPR valve it may not return closed, Then you’ll really have a problem. If you want to check a drain get a little bucket and pour water down it.

Yeah - I don’t typically check the TPR for that reason… I have only done that a few times. But I suspected this was the discharge and I just HAD to determine it.
