I actually came across a house today that had tamper resistant receptacles that easily allowed my tester to be inserted. I have inspected dozens of houses with these where I had to wiggle, push etc to get the same tester into. I guess I will have to start recommending they all be replaced if they are not readily useable.
It could be that one brand is more user friendly than another. I’m not sure if needing to wiggle the plug would be enough to recommend replacing every device.
I know, but I have had several that were a real pain. Even had clients ask me what I was doing when they were standing there hearing sounds like plastic cracking etc. I have found some that would not accept a 3-prong plug at all.
