TREC validates or reaffirms walk and talks are not allowed

“Walk and Talk” Inspections Are Not Allowed

Texas inspectors who conduct “walk and talks” beware: it’s not allowed under TREC rules.

“Walk and Talks” are inspections in which an inspector charges a flat fee to a client to provide basic observations of property within an allotted time-period, usually 30 minutes to an hour. It is not an authentic inspection and there is no inspection report provided to the client. This type of inspection can be subject to a TREC complaint and disciplinary action.

Welcome back to our forum, Christopher!..enjoy participating.

Out of curiosity, does this include consultations where no fee is charged? Say for like pre-listing?

Could you post a link to the section of these rules for clarity please?
