# Trim around garage door

What would your comments be about this trim installed around the garage door? There is a gap, about 1 inch between the siding and the trim. As a result there is exposed wood. This is not original to the home and the wood behind the trim looks new also. My comment would be something like this

" Noted substandard installation of wood trim around the garage door. Exposed bare wood was noted between the trim and siding. Exposed bare wood is subject to rot and insect damage. Have a qualified contractor repair the trim installation as necessary."

So the flashing is missing on top of everything else that is wrong.
