Is anyone else who drags and drops from the Microsoft Photo app suddenly having issues? I always drag and drop the open picture into my reporting software. But all of a sudden today I can’t do that. I have restarted Windows, and uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I have also tried a different mouse.
Note: I can drag and drop the closed picture file from Windows explorer, just not the open picture from Photos.
Here is an example of an open picture in the app. Until today, I could always just click and drag the photo anywhere I wanted it, in most cases, into my reporting software.
I don’t know if I have ever been able to drag and drop from photo’s, never tried. I just right click and copy then paste into whatever I am working on.
Can’t drag photos from the microsoft photo app in Win 10. Why would you even want to. Just open the pictures folder in a window overtop your reporting software (or desktop) and drag and drop from there.
Did you search the MS forums? I found some things to try there. They even mentioned a mouse setting something along the lines of making sure the " Allow drag and drop" box is still checked.
I know in Word there are settings for picture formatting when you insert them and some won’t let you drag the pics around after you insert them. Not sure if there are settings in the program you’re dealing with - assuming it’s not MS Word?
No, nothing like that. It’s not related to the program I use, as I can’t even drag/drop a picture to desktop. Something changed behind the scenes in Microsoft Photo from what I can tell so far.
Sorry to hear about your dilema Ryan, I remember the same thing happened to me a number of years ago when they screwed up MS Picture it. I was not a happy camper because I really liked that program the way it was originally, but the software engineers have to keep changing things in order to keep their job security.
Found a work around. I downloaded Visum Photo Viewer and it lets me drag and drop open pictures. Below is a download link (free from Microsoft store) if anyone is interested.
