Two GFCI Receptacles on one circuit

Both analogies are correct. Although I do feel that the situation is not buyer friendly. For example if the upstairs bathroom trips the home owner does not understand that they have to go to the other bathroom to reset that one too. It also happens in kitchens when the GFI is covered by appliances and they can’t find them or if the GFI is covered by a refrigerator in the garage. So why bother? Just my opinion.

Electrician probably realized they ran a shared neutral after everything was pulled and rather than pull another wire, they just hooked up another GFCI .
