Type of fasteners in service panel

What of fasteners should be used to secure the service panel to the wall? Surely, not drywall screws.

Thanks!

Surely not.

Hi,

Usually #8 or 10 X 1" pan head wood screws. If you use #8 screws you may need washers, I always use washers anyway.

PS: Depending on type of backing and wall you have, you can use the aforementioned. I wouldn’t use anything less than a 3/4 screw for a small panel. If you have concrete behind a piece of 1/2 wood you could trace your panel holes and use a hammer drill and install plastic anchors without removing the wood. Then use some 1’ 1/2 to 1’ 3/4 pan head wood screws.

Thanks!!!
