Someone took a lot of time to construct this deck roof without proper consideration for the house connection, flashing, drainage, snow load, etc. Will also post photos of the 2x4 deck supports. 
John, your to picky, that is how the Box store told him to build it.
They even gave him left over shingles to do the tie-in.:mrgreen:
When all else fails, apply even more Karnak.

They did use that stuff to keep the rain gutters clean…there ya go!
