Thanks Eric, I know Bill, he’s a very competent and capable inspector, and I recently meet Robert.

Clearly Robert is qualified and knows his craft inside and out. But my observations about his presence on this BB here are accurate.

I give Robert a hard time based on his rough inter-personnel skills. He may have technical skills, but he shows utter contempt for alternative interpretations of anything, be it code related or insurance related.

Are blueprints available to review?

If the blue prints were correct, how come I can’t give a clip or single wrap credit to so many homes that were built in the 1990’s because the straps are 2 inches away from the trusses?

I see your point. I will use blueprints instead of marking “Unknown” or “No attic access” only when there truly is no attic access or if the roof deck attachments and/or roof-to-wall connections are otherwise not accessible. It’s my understanding that at least some insurance companies will accept information from blueprints as long as enough detail is provided.

I have used blueprints before, usually when there is foam.
