Don’t give up your day job just yet. Continue pursuing your real estate license. You will be able to inspect homes for referrals your fellow salesmen/women will be sending you. I wish I was sharp enough to do both. Good luck.

Yes I know NACHI is great place to start, and it looks like it might take for me about 2-3 months to get the course work and requirements done to apply for Licence…

Once you get your license or get certified, you should be good to go. You’ll learn as you go along. You have a good chance of missing deficiencies on your first 200 or so inspections. If you don’t get sued out of business, you’ll be on easy street after that.
PROOF OF EDUCATION -Please provide proof (original certificates awarded by the school) that you successfully completed the 180 home inspection approved course of study, which shall include not less than 40 hours of unpaid field based inspections under the supervision of a licensed home inspector, as provided by the school providing the course of study pursuant to N.J.S.A. 45:8-68(c)(1).

C2) **PROOF OF 250 HOME INSPECTIONS**- This provision only applies to individuals that have not passed an approved course of study through the NJ Department of Education

From what I read in couple of responses …is State of NJ is kind of tough state to get into this…
Are NJ laws so strick on inspectors or very easy on general public to sue inspectors? - I will be researching this more. (Thanks Ben for your input, Any insight (examples) you can provide would be very helpful)
