Watch them hot attics!

I use an Ice vest and multiple fans when prolonged attic visits are necessary. Stay safe folks.

I had to fix up some insulation in an attic yesterday. I got there at 7:50, was done by about 8:30 and the amount of liquid coming off my head was insane.

I don’t do afternoon inspections this time of year. Not going up on a roof at 2pm, nor going in an attic after 11am.

I have no idea how those guys do this, even the young ones.

This fella was a bit older, so that contributed, but it’s a sad story. Nothing you’re doing at work is worth your life.

That is tragic! I am in the PNW and we may get some 135-140° attics, however I try to limit it quickly and drink some cold water when getting in these. I have always pitied the guys in the warmer climates! I guess all of my dirty and aged crawlspaces make up for it, but man…hate to hear about this. That is brutal

6-7 years ago, I had a prolonged stay in the attic while inspecting an old furnace. It was a summer afternoon on a clear, sunny day. I came out of that attic looking like I had been in the shower. I have always had a high tolerance for heat, but I won’t do that again.
