Water Heater Elements

it is a 40 gallon , and has high limits and thermostats

Right and being that 25 amp breakers are not that common the next one is 30 amp.

But are the wiring inside the tank properly sized…just wondering.

IDk about excess heat, but it would be major defect in my summary.

good question and that is another reason to check wire size,

Thank you all for your insight - the help is much appreciated.

Where you y’all come up with extra heat stuff?

The only change is “time”.

Not pressure, not heat, not design…

As Wayne said several times, there are thermostats and high limits (just like for the smaller elements). That is what controls the heat.

Breakers and wire size is all that matters.

There is 3.414 btu/watt.
It takes 1 btu to raise 1 lb water 1 degree F.
8.34 lbs/per gallon
Temp rise F = water temp in to water temp set point.

More watts, less time to raise water temp to thermostat set point.
