WDO Quiz Question + Florida Exam Content

Hi everyone,
I’m fairly new to InterNACHI and just wanted to say hello!

I have question about a quiz from the InterNACHI WDO Inspection Course. Here’s what came up in my results:

Question:
True or False: When discussing WDO, the term “nymph” is unique to termites.
I answered “False”, but it was marked incorrect. Based on what I’ve learned, I thought the term “nymph” is also used for other insects like cockroaches and grasshoppers, not just termites.
Can anyone confirm what the correct answer should be?
That’s the other one: * T/F: Foundation treating is the application of termiticide to a foundation to make it impervious to termites. (you answered “False”)

Also, for anyone who has taken the Florida Home Inspector Licensing Exam, do you recall if there are a lot of WDO-related questions on it?

Thanks in advance for any help!
Lothar

Correct
Nymph refers to the immature stage an insect that does not go thru complete metamorphosis.
Incomplete metamorphosis involves three stages - egg, nymph, and adult

Thank you for the quick help!
If I understand correctly, it sounds like there may be an error in the quiz since the term “nymph” is also used for other WDO-related insects like cockroaches—not just termites. Just wanted to make sure I’m not misunderstanding.

There’s no such thing as “The” Florida HI exam. Unlike most other states, Florida has approved multiple exams. So, the answer to your question depends on which exam you are going to take.

Most HI exams do not have WDO questions because only four states regulate WDO inspections and each of those states has its own rules and mandatory reporting requirements.

I have heard that InterNACHI’s exam does have WDO questions on it, but I haven’t personally verified that.
