Please take a look at my site and tell me what you think.

I’m especially interested in how long it takes to DL.

Harvey Gordon,

The name was thought up before I saw your name. Please don't think I am trying to steal someone else's name. Actually I'm sure the name is being used by plenty of HI's

All comments are welcome.

GREETINGS FROM CANADA!

Very nice site. A tad long on the down load but then I'm on dial up so everything is a tad slow.

Loaded slowly on my broadband too.

Not sure what graphics are slowing it down but you may want to decrease those file sizes a tad!

Down load is a little slow and I have cable, I know you would be much faster and have a more productive site if it had the NACHI logo on it.

Why wait? Become a master of your domain and be with the best... NACHI.

OOUCH!

Vince, cool for now! My attorneys are submitting (or have) the National Trade Mark papers so that is my only gripe! Me for one, I love the name...can you tell?

Other than that, the way you are using tables along with background images and background colors is causing it to be very slow! I am not sure about the Style Sheets you are using, but if you used a template system or program you wont understand what I said (possibly).

One last point, wheres the NACHI logo?

National Trademark? EEEKK!

Ahh well, I can change the name as I am not even a recognized HI yet..

I know I need to do something about the multiple templates.

OK.
I just killed a lot of the individual templates and got rid of the pictures in the What's inspected section.
Let me know what it looks like now?
I have a cable modem so it's difficult for me to judge.

Thanks again.

Thanks Todd.

I just have to convince harvey that both of us having the same name is a great idea. We could have a presence in FL and MI. Possible partnership ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

Actually my long range goal is to have a lot of HI's working for me. I believe that is where the money is in this business.

As far as the presense thing, that is the future of SBS. We are putting together a "simple" franchise package. The hold up at the moment is the liability factor and the diffrent state requirements for national franchises.

Harvey,

I see what you are talking about with all the files. I used newtorksolutions for my host and they give you a Scrapbook for building your page. All the files I uploaded went to my Scrapbook for easy access. Well apparently wether or not you actually use the files on your site they stay in your scrapbook. This makes sense but why would a visitor be required to DL everything in your scrapbook? I cleaned out my scrapbook. I hope this makes it a little faster. ![icon_rolleyes.gif](upload://iqxt7ABYC2TEBomNkCmZARIrQr6.gif)

As far as the style sheets go, I can't figure out why everything has to reload everytime the site is visited. Any ideas

Check out the site again and let me know what you think.

Thanks for all your help.
Vince

That cut it down to 2 seconds, with broad band. I would imagine it would take 10-20 sec with dial up. looks good though icon_smile.gif

How much are you paying ? Can you change things without cost?

Take a look at my site I turned off all the fancy stuff.

Great looking site. It pretty much loaded for me as soon as I clicked your link. I really like the mouse over sound. Perhaps one day I will have a site as informative as yours. My site is very basic as I just want a web presence.

You seem to be the only person who can view my site in such a short amount of time. Everyone else said it’s slow to load.

I can change my site as often as I like and the cost is $75 per year for a 5 page site.

BTW
I love AZ, the wife and I spent a week in Tempe a couple years ago and fell in love with the place. We even looked at a couple of houses while there. Actually, we a seriously considering moving to the Phoenix area this year as our employer has a big presence in that town.

I can add or change things instantly; the realtor stuff changes daily I don't do a thing. Most people that call because of my site like the local info stuff. Whatever as long as they call

Definately faster now! On my dial-up it took about 25 seconds to load this time as opposed to over a minute the first time.

Hey Vince!

I think it would be better with a 5-10 page template.

I see you are a LLC! LOL!

All three attorneys told me to go with the LLC.

I do plan to join NACHI. You guys have been a big help and your representation of NACHI is really what has drawn me to this organization.

Vince, a couple of suggestions:

1. Provide more specific information on prices. We all know things can vary, but for a given size house within a reasonable distance, surely you have a standard price to offer. Add contingency messages too as necessary. For example, "Additional fees may apply for travel outside of Fartsworth county".

2. Hide your email address. You're gonna be killed with spam as it is now. Make a web form that sends mail rather than display a standard email link. Or if you have to, use javascript to do document.write commands to display your email address. That way it won't be in the source of the page for bots to find.

3. Get rid of any and all javascript. It's prone to errors on different browsers and only serves to detract from most users' experience. Whatever you do, don't use (cough) Flash.

4. Post client testimonials as you accumulate them.

5. Display affiliate (eg. NACHI) logos as much as possible. Do you have E&O insurance with FREA? Display their logo.
