Hey Brian, I see that you came upon a Chuckwalla, they like tile roofs. They crawl under the tiles and cause lots of damage, darn little lizards! I see them out in Gold Canyon often. 
This one is in Awhatukee, South Mountain. First one I have seen on a Roof myself.
looks like Duff is shrinking…
Must have made a home through that missing hip tile I see.
