My wife and I spent 8 hours yesterday working on a project for the ABC Extreme Home Makeover. We were redoing a family run camp for Disabled Children in a small town about 40 miles from me. One of (if not the largest) largest projects that they have undertaken. Redid main house, 2 cabins, and a media center.
I had been cutting out some hands with a jigsaw (traces of the kids hands for one of the projects). After cutting out a BUNCH of them, I came across some feet tracings. I cut them out and talked to one of the design guys, and was told those are for the kids that do not have hands, which there were 4 of.
It was quite an experience and I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it. For those that are unfamiliar with the show, they find a family that needs some help that is doing or have been through something extraordinary and they either remodel or rebuild their house. Normally rebuild. They destroy the old house (as they did in this case), and rebuild it ground up within 7 days.

Dave,
What can I say. You were a part of one of the BEST project shows on TV... ever. What that show does is nothing short of miraculous. It has transformed lives... really.
For those who have never seen it, I strongly suggest you watch it. There typically aint a dry eye in the house by the end, especially the reveal.
Ty Pennington, host of the show, has stated many times that the show transformed HIM.
Great show... bravo to all the volunteers... Support the show. It is THAT noble in its intent, it has massive support from manufacturers, builders, volunteers, and financial institutions. It is NOTHING line some of the other shows out there.
And to our own Dave Bush, a HUGE round of applause.

Would you think projects like this and Hab. Hum. should be on the list for CE - or do you think the true ed value is more for the heard than the brain.

I didn’t get in the house enough to look for defects; but I know they had the best of the best out there. Best Engineering firm around, best roofers, electricians, plumbers, etc.

Sometimes we don't know how good we got it.
What a great project to be a part of. Habitat for Humanity is similar, kinda like the old barn raising days.
Something to be proud of Dave. ![eusa_clap.gif](upload://vwXJP6EroRUgatgS660IOyuD5XK.gif)
