Hey gang,

Saw something today that was a first;

On some duct work in a crawl space, saw these two, large…“pods” in line between the furnace and a vent for a bedroom at the end of the run. There is nothing between the furnace and the vent except for these “pods” and maybe…30ft of duct work; straight shot too. There are no wires (I was thinking some kind of inline fan to help push the heat) or valves or anything other than these two “pods”.

I have never seen anything like this. Any ideas?

I can think of only one thing and that is additional filtering for ASTHMATIC in the bedroom.

Nice look at that I have only seen this on exhaust not supply for Lennox units.
About time someone came up with this design or has it been here awhile but I have never seen it in Inspections.

Thanks for the feedback guys;now I know. I thought the homeowner was getting creative and installed some glass pack mufflers from his hot rod!\:D/

I think the manufacturer of the muffler product is missing a great marketing opportunity by not labeling the product. Put a name on it and make it easier for us guys in the field…and maybe sell more product. Sorry guys…January is marketing month for me so sales is on my mind.
