I stick to home inspection education and standards of practice. Codes are for municipal inspectors and irrelevant to home inspection. To cite a code in a report indicates that you’re inspecting for current code compliance which we as home inspectors are not. It’s good to know the codes yes but I avoid mentioning them. Reccomendations can be made without mention of codes.
