I saw this in the hallway of a recent inspection and have absolutely no clue what the heck it is. It was located above the thermostat if that matters at all.

ahhhh… Thanks so much for the super fast reply. I thought it looked like a speaker on the front but with no markings on it I had no clue. But it makes sense since there was an alarm system present at the home.

Check out if you can get Google Lens on your phone. It searches the internet based on a picture you take. Works great for identifying things like this, especially when it has definite characteristics (specific colors and shapes).
