I could easily see that the foundation was having problems along the walls and at the corner, my first thought was some sort of repair.
Squeezed through the 12 inch opening of a removable screened entry hatch. Here's what you see

That is a fully active cistern, filled with about 4-6 feet of water. The cistern extends outwards and away from the foundation plus is actually returns to the center of the crawlspace. I have no idea how far is goes either way. It appears that someone knocked down a portion of the brick walls to allow for the perimeter walls and floor joists to be installed. The cistern is fully constructed of brick from what is visible.
Check out all of the nice little scabs that were used.
More to come on the actual foundation walls and flooring support system (if that's what you want to call it) If any one can lighten up that last photo please do so.
