What's your call?

Pre-drywall inspection, new construction (remodel) where some of the existing conduit and j-boxes were still being used.

I called these boxes out as in need of plugs in the missing knock-outs before hanging drywall. The contractor was a bit P-O'd and said I was being way to picky ![icon_wink.gif](upload://ssT9V5t45yjlgXqiFRXL04eXtqw.gif)

What would your call be?

Even the new installations were missing covers and knock-outs.

This is the same home where I found this http://www.nachi.org/bbsystem/viewtopic.php?t=6432

Ask the contractor what section of the NEC allows the open KOs?

You are not being to picky, boxes should not have missing KOs, it would be acceptable if they put in KO seals.

I would guess you are hired by the future owners of this house?

If that is the case keep on doing what you are doing. ![icon_cool.gif](upload://oPnLkqdJc33Dyf2uA3TQwRkfhwd.gif)

I never ignore open knock-outs. They get noted and recommended for KO seals every time. Tell the contractor you aren’t nearly as picky as the lawyer will be if there’s a problem. Electrical is a very bad place to not dot the “i’s” and cross the “t’s”.

You also need to strap that romex within 12" of the box. I can’t tell about the EMT
