Why air is escaping

I originally had a question, but I figured it out while I was posting it.

I was in a crawlspace under this drain pipe when I felt air coming back down from the airconditioning. I checked the ductwork underneath, no leaks, appears well intact. The register is under the sink, and the ductwork goes straight up and ends up under the sink and is just blowing back down through that hole as well as through the register. It is creating quite a moisture in the crawlspace right by this hole though.

Dave,

The nice thing about air is that it does act like water and takes the easiest path out. In this case it was the pipe leading to the crawl space.
