Mi Mi Joe, you sure don't hesitate to through stones in your dictators defense, Personally I see the heading of the post a ridiculous obsurb topic
and just another bashing effort by the master basher himself

I'll refrain from throwing stones back and will refrain to skipping a couple pebbles across the creek

Thanks to a recent post by member here I know where my ashi dues go, are there any public records stating where our dues that are paid to this org go??

"ASHI members have a rentention problem",
If I was a member active in trying to change the perception of this org my concern would be with the rentention of this org's ED

Boy, mention those four letters and they flock here like vultures on dead meat. How gullible! Talk about where org. money goes, at least we don’t have a group of so-called dictators that out of the blue one day claim.

“You members now listen to us! you will pay additional ungodly fee! Don’t ask why, just pay or don’t stay, you’re choice”. Talk about worship. icon_rolleyes.gif

Not to beat a dead horse, but the annual dues for any organization is the equivalent of one inspection. $289 or $375 no big deal really.

$289 for NACHI and $375 for ASHI candidate. I don’t get the $250 thing.

Erol, The $250 is what their members were asked to pay last year in addition to regular dues to support their so called “branding idea” whether they wanted to or not. It appeared to be the last straw for a lot of the members. It appears to be $50 a year after the initial layout. I changed the last post to not throw anyone off! icon_wink.gif

Joe, Oh is that what they call it? No thanks

The NHIE exam I can understand. But $85 to take a SOP test is taking it to extremes. I think NACHI should have a proctored NHIE type exam of it’s own. That would silence critics by the thousands. aiwebs_002.gif

That’s what NACHI needs to become a far superior organization. Let’s do it!

Gerry has been working on a new test for at leaste 9 months.

Did you guy's take his beta test?

It was harder than the NHIE by a long shot.

I do not think this should replace our entrance exam, but it should be required for a CMI designation. Or in States where it is required the NHIE should automatically make you quallified for CMI.

I am pushing for this as I only got a 79 on Gerry's test and I tried very hard. ![icon_wink.gif](upload://ssT9V5t45yjlgXqiFRXL04eXtqw.gif)

Heck Todd, now I've got to make it tougher, no one is supposed to pass ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

But seriously, now things are quieting down some what we will be getting a final version released real soon. Certainly in time for the convention, plus we will hopefully have some new stuff ready for that as well.

Regards

Gerry

all our clients. In the past 4 months in my area I’ve only had 2 people even INQUIRE if we were ASHI, etc. Didn’t get either job - we were too expensive ($35-$50 more than the other guy according to them).

I've gotten 5 referrals I know of from my affiliation with EDI (exterior design institute). Most of the ASHI guys in my area report the same type of results - little if anything. However, inspectors in the area of St. Louis keep telling us that in St. Louis if you're not ASHI its REAL hard to get work.

Go Figure.
