I see this constantly eusa_doh.gif (even the job I just came from) Grounded appliance connected to a 2 prong outlet via a “cheater”, ground tab not connected, & more than likely, the face plate screw isnt bonded anyways… Time for a GFI or rerun the circuit with a ground…


But wait..... I spy a bit of the outlet yoke from beneath the cheater... the face of the outlet is cracked! & with this specific style of outlet (OLD Leviton), the yoke broadens right below the contacts inside... if the cheater starts to fall from the outlet, it may make contact with the yoke & have a dead short (phase to grounded phase).. If the yoke IS grounded, it'll blow just from the ungrounded phase contacting it. (unless the ocpd is FPE.. then just RUN!)
