Why is it improper to support and secure branch-circuit wiring methods of NM-B cables that are located above a suspended, or dropped ceiling that supply light fixtures or equipment?

Would it be because the cables could pull loose if the ceiling shifted?

How about because it would be subject to physical damage since the ceiling is not a permanent installation. icon_biggrin.gif In addition to those good reasons that were previously listed by others!
