B. Flat Roof Roof on a building with 5 or more units where at least 90% of the main roof area has a roof slope of less than 2:12. Roof area with slope less than 2:12________sq ft;Total roof area________sq ft
If the entire roof is 2:12 or less (all flat 2:12 or less), does the form require us to fill in the sq ft/total sq ft ? not understanding the purpose of the second half of part B
I usually use the type II and type III form and haven’t used this form for the commercial buildings, but Universal says to use the OIR-B1-1802 for their policies
this example is a flat roof on a 5 story condo that 100% of the roof is 2:12 or less
Thanks in advance for any input;-) Kevin House

I would not measure if it is 100% flat. I would just write 100% flat and be done.

Thanks for the input John.
You would only measure and fill it out if it was less than 90% then you would mark “other” I assume

I also put 100% flat. Remeber commercial form is for 4 stories or more now, so 3 story buildings would get 1802

I beleive that Universal does request that all WM’s be done on the 1802. Their re-inspections also reflect this.
Keep in mind that a 2/12 pitch roof is NOT flat, only less than 2/12.
If 100% flat, then I suppose you could input “100%” in the two fields, but I would go ahead and do the math.

OK Thanks for the input Preston;
Universal says they want they 1802 form
Citizens wants the type II and III I will probably fill both out if I don’t know who the agent is quoting with.
