Hello there, I received the request from an agent asking to remove the membrane roof attached to the existing metal roof.
Membrane is part of the same structure but is a new attachment coming from an extension increasing one room and living room area.
Both roofs are visible from the rear elevation.
Flashing and. Fascia connected as a same on both.
Do I need to keep both types of roof from the form or I need to remove the roof extension on this case.
Pictures would help, because it is hard to understand what you are trying to describe.
But, if the roof is attached to the main attic structure, then it is part of the calculations. If it is just attached to the fascia of the original home, then no, it is not included.
In other words, if the wind completely destroys this roof, can it leave a hole in the attic?

This new struture was part of an adittion not previous destroyed Fascia & Flashing built together.
Simplifying!!
If is visible showing the remaining 10% im leaving a room for “no discount”.
Or I just need to keep predominant type (more than 90%).
Yeah, that would be included as part of the roof structure.
