Would you document this?

The support under this deck is not 100% seated in the bracket. Is this an issue?

No, not in this case due to the ledger board not being 90 degrees to the joist. That is why the gap, plus it is still seated in the hanger.

The dimension of PT material varies. A 2x8 could measure anywhere from 7 1/4’’ to 7 1/2’’ depending on the moisture content when installed., and then, of course, when it dries out, you have shrinkage.

Yes, I came across that often, and a reason why you can’t lay out the hangers on the ledger ahead of time. the tops are all going to be different heights and with composite decking, would not look so good.

Is it just me, or do those nail heads look too small for the bracket? I also see tabs left over on the nail heads, indicating they were shot from a framing gun. Probably not the correct type

I use a nail gun for hangers. Google it.

You’re right. I had never seen simpson nails for a gun.
