What is the minimum required thickness of masonry walls? Parapet walls?
The minimum thickness of solid masonry walls in one story dwellings and garages shall not be less than 6” in thickness (9’ in height). Masonry bearing walls more than one story high shall be a minimum of 8” in thickness. Solid masonry parapet walls shall not be less than 8” thick and their height shall not exceed four times their thickness.
