I figured they only used 2 nails. They overachieved and used 3.

Looks like they may have done the same thing on the siding:

Maybe it’s an obsessive compulsive thing?

Like the roof, the siding needs to be taken down to the sheathing/substrate.
There is the obvious bad butt joint in the photo. There is also no starter strip, J-channel or undersill. The top row of siding is missing on all four exposures. It goes on from there. Surprisingly, they used Tyvek. Although, I cannot guarantee that they installed that right.

New style fiberglass insulated flue pipe. It’s not B vent, so maybe we’ll start calling it F-vent.

Somebody made this thing. WTF?

Dryer vent lint catch.?

Waiting on a patent I am sure

A prepper or outdoors person perhaps? I guess it makes terrific fire starter. :man_shrugging:

Probably. There are a variety of electric dryer lint traps with a water base. And a number of homebrew attempts to vent dryer exhaust to the indoors to capture the waste heat.

You’d be grouchy too if someone routed all their dryer lint into your house.

They should have put a B vent pipe in on the exit side so they could just burn it when the can got full. :slightly_smiling_face:

This is always a welcome site before entering a crappy vacant home in a less desirable part of the city.
